What Makes Orgonite?
Orgonite is formed using a mix of resin, metals, and a quartz crystal. It is based on Dr. Wilhelm Reich’s scientific research, culminating in the existence of what he termed orgone energy. The pyramid or sphere shape helps funnel positive energy into the environment, while the stones and metals eliminate the negative energies.
The resin in orgonite shrinks during the curing process, permanently squeezing the quartz crystal inside, which creates a piezoelectric effect inside the crystal, causing the end points to become electronically polarized.
The main function of orgonite is transforming negative orgone energies from EMFs, extremely low frequency fields (ELFs), and radio frequency fields (RFs) into positive orgone energies. These negative energies are all around us constantly, created by use of cell phones, cell phone towers, computers, home appliances, electrical lines, radio towers, and so forth. Orgonite generates positive orgone energy that is known for its positive influence on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states of life. It is a powerful tool that can be used for protection, general well-being, and to help healing by creating a balanced and positively energy-charged environment.
Timeline of Orgonite Development
Dr. Wilhelm Reich, an Austrian psychoanalyst, researched orgone energy in the earlier half of the 20th century, and today’s orgonite devices are built on his findings. While conducting his research, Dr. Reich found that organic materials attract and hold orgone energy, while nonorganic metals simultaneously attract and repel the energy.
In 1991, Karl Hans Welz, an Australian inventor, created the first orgonite prototype, which was a suspension of powdered metal particles and powdered quartz in the resin. He is credited with coining the term orgonite, derived from the term orgone.
In 2000, Don Croft modified Welz’s formulation and used metal shavings instead of metal powders, and his wife Carol added a whole piece of quartz crystal, replacing the powdered quartz. The Crofts were also pioneers in the orgonite gifting movement, which has now spread worldwide.
